I've had my 2014 ASX3 for about 7 months now and have never really bothered doing a serious check on MPG but as I did a fairly long trip at the weekend thought I'd see what figures I'd get.
The journey was a round trip of 220 miles, of which 90% was on motorway. I zeroed the average MPG setting before starting out. Journey was conducted at a steady 70-75mph on the motorway and I was disappointed to get a result of 42.9mpg when I returned home. My previous car, a 1.6 petrol Qashqai would have produced a better figure than that, although the pulling power of the ASX is far superior to my old car.
I'm just curious what kind of mpg other diesel owners have been getting.

I too have the ASX 3 diesel. I recon your 42.9mpg is what you can expect. I have covered just under 60,000 miles and averaged 45.42mpg (I keep meticulous records).I probably spend 50% of time on the motorway and ‘A’ roads. Of course mpg depends on many factors, not least driving manner (heavy/light foot). Keep between 60 and 65mph and it will be nearer 50, over 70mph my 150bhp 4x4 goes downhill rapid. The extra time is not that great to complete the trip and you will be a lot better off. A K&N airfilter will also help.

Doing 70 in 6th gear the car is only 'ticking over' at 2000rpm and I would have thought that was enough to return an mpg of 50 or so. I'll try keeping down to 65 on my next motorway trip and see what thedifference is.
